about me

founder of beautiful one birth services

I provide childbirth education, doula support, and placenta services to families in the San Diego area. I am married to the man of my dreams and of my prayers, and we are in love with our little boy Keaton James. I am trying to live a life of faith, love and humility…and natural mindedness…and eco-friendliness…and service…and oh yeah, fun.

I met my husband when we were freshman in college. We got married 6 years later. That was our first “best day ever.”

We later started a family. My pregnancy was one of THE most influential and transformational periods in my life. Because of the research we did and the decisions we made, we felt empowered, excited, and embraced the amazingness of how the female body was created perfectly to give birth.  I felt more beautiful than i ever had before, and I loved feeling and watching our son grow so effortlessly within me.  We welcomed our son into the world in a peaceful, sweet way. That was our next        “best day ever.”

I was blessed beyond measure to be allowed to experience pregnancy again as I spent the majority of 2013 pregnant with our second baby. what a joy it was. we didn’t know if baby was a boy or girl, and it was well worth the wait.

we welcomed our daughter into the world at home on our bed after a 2 hour and 45 minute labor. it was perfect and calm, just as she is. this was absolutely our next “best day ever”

that’s the story of my best days in a nutshell. this blog is designed to be a place of connection, information, encouragement. a place for birth stories, pregnancy and birth education, postpartum inspiration, and just generally a happy place to be.

I hope you enjoy!
